OPERAnauts is excited to announce significant progress in its mission through a series of remote training sessions focused on managing opera music initiatives with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.

Over the past seven months, these training sessions have supported a dedicated event committee and an executive team of four, guided by an interim executive director in Congo. The impact of these sessions is evident in Junior Yakusu ITAMBO’s experience, whose empathetic response to a team challenge reflects OPERAnauts’ core values.

In addition to leadership development, donor contributions have provided vital resources for musicians in Congo. OPERAnauts has supplied new instrument strings, battery-operated LED lights for night rehearsals, music scores, and funds for local transportation. These essential tools are enabling musicians to rehearse and perform at their best, ensuring the growth of opera in their communities.

“We are profoundly grateful for the support of our donors,” said Dorcas NENDE, interim Executive Director.

OPERAnauts remains committed to sharing stories of transformation and resilience as we continue to make opera a source of hope and empowerment.
