In September 2024, Génial MAKUNDI, a lead member of OPERANAUTS DRC, organized a charitable initiative in Kinshasa to support local orphans. The event featured a mini-concert with lyric artists from OPERANAUTS DRC and other groups. The concert, held on September 14 at Notre Dame de Fatima, one of the most beautiful and one of the most popular churches in town, showcased popular arias performed by soloists. Despite coinciding with a busy Saturday, the audience’s participation was enthusiastic, contributing to a lively atmosphere.
The theme, “Vivre la charité avec les orphelins” (“Living Charity with Orphans”) was chosen to bring joy to the children and assist them in preparing for the upcoming school year. The organizers, through collective effort, secured necessary resources and overcame challenges to realize the event. Proceeds from the concert, along with generous contributions from supporters, were used to provide educational supplies and support for the orphans.
Two weeks after the concert, the organizers visited the Lisanga Ya Klisto orphanage in Ngaba commune. They spent the day engaging with the children, preparing meals, playing games, and assisting with homework. This visit strengthened the bond between the volunteers and the orphans, highlighting the positive impact of community involvement and musical engagement.
