Operanauts is thrilled to share the latest developments in our mission to bring the transformative power of opera to communities in Congo. Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors, we’ve been able to make significant strides, particularly through a series of remote training sessions that focused on managing opera music initiatives with a deep understanding of trauma-informed care.

Over the past seven months, we have trained a dedicated event committee, an executive team of four, and an interim executive director in Congo. These training sessions are more than just educational—they are laying the groundwork for a resilient and empowered team that is well-prepared to navigate the unique challenges they encounter. The impact of this training is evident in the experiences of team members like Junior Yakusu Itambo. After facing a difficult situation with another team member, Junior reached out to us, and his words resonated with the empathy and values that are at the heart of Operanauts’ mission.

In addition to these vital training sessions, your financial contributions have allowed us to provide essential resources for our musicians. New instrument strings, battery-operated LED lights for night rehearsals, music scores, and local transportation funds have all been purchased and sent to Congo, ensuring that our musicians have what they need to rehearse and perform at their best.

As we continue to bring this art form to communities in Congo, we remain deeply grateful for the commitment of our supporters. We look forward to sharing more stories of the incredible work that you are making possible.
